Relationship Therapy

Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more passion and intimacy? At Tango & Co. Therapy, we have been helping relationships thrive for over 20 years.

Reconnect & Grow

Relationship therapy is more than just resolving conflict. It provides a space to:

  • Communicate more effectively, with less blame and more clarity

  • Understand recurring patterns or emotional triggers in your relationship

  • Rebuild trust and intimacy

  • Mend attachment ruptures

  • Create or renew a passionate sex life

  • Navigate transitions such as parenting, marriage, relocation, or separation

  • Strengthen emotional connection and mutual support

Whether you’re navigating a crisis or simply feeling disconnected, relationship counseling can help you create lasting, meaningful change.

At Tango & Co. Therapy, we are trained in Gottman Method, Family Systems, Emotion Focused work, and the work of Sex Expert Esther Perel

Relationship therapy is our specialty — not a side offering. Our Master's degree is specifically focused on relationships, and it shows in the depth of care we bring to every couple.

Most things can be improved, changed, and bettered with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With relationship  therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and desires, and get what you need to thrive together.

Some issues that bring people to therapy are:

  • Addiction/Partner Addiction Support
  • Balance (Work/Life/Family)
  • Blended Families
  • Chronic Illness
  • Divorce
  • Extended Family
  • Infidelity/Cheating
  • Intimacy
  • Mental Illness
  • Pre-Marital/Readiness
  • Infertility
  • Sexuality
  • Sex & Intimacy: Pleasure/cultivating aliveness, desire discrepancy

FAQS

Do you work with LGBTQ+ or nontraditional couples?

Absolutely. We welcome couples of all genders, orientations, and relationship structures. We are trained in culturally responsive, affirming care, and bring an open & nonjudgmental approach to every partnership.

Do we need to be in crisis to start couples counseling?

Not at all! While some people seek therapy during times of high stress or crisis, many come to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, or deepen their emotional connection. Relationship therapy can be both preventative and healing. After initial work together, it is common for clients to maintain a once a month or quarterly schedule for maintenance and check-ups.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. We provide teletherapy for people across WA state. You can attend sessions from the same location or join separately from different devices whatever works best for you. We also have in person-spots available in our Maple Valley, WA office.

How often do we meet, and for how long?

Most people begin with weekly/bi-weekly 55 minute sessions. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine the best pacing. Most couples begin to see improvements within 4-8 weeks of starting sessions, sometimes even sooner. The key is to do your homework in between sessions. The more active and accountable you are to change, the quicker it will become your reality.

Do you accept insurance? Does my Insurance cover it?

We are out-of-network providers, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. However, we provide monthly superbills that many clients submit for reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits and for HSA/FSA accounts if applicable. We’re happy to walk you through that process. Not all insurance companies cover marital/relationship therapy.
